Within this photo series “Water me Please” I am exploring the idea of the white male gaze upon Asian women and its inherent fetishisation. In hand,“water me please” also delves into the objectification of the Asian woman through the symbol of the lily flower. The lily holds connotations of purityand innocence with its white supple petals, but equally with the bold red pollen nods to themes of sultry, sexualisation and desire ; much like theideas tied to Asian women. The models are adorned in white lacy dresses as they outwardly appear to be the pure and virtuous girls that white men perpetuate onto us, but with the contrasting red background, allude to the sexual desire and promiscuity that is equally associated with Asian woman - a duality.
